  • For my Girl Scout Gold Award, I wanted to highlight the history of adoption and impact of closed birth records in the state of Texas. While working with Support Texas Adoptee Rights, an organization committed to the legislative fight to open records, I decided to write, direct, and design a play on the subject.

  • The highest award a Senior or Ambassador Girl Scout can earn. To become a Gold Award Girl Scout, one must identify an issue, then find and develop an innovative and sustainable solution. Each projects must have a substantial global and community impact.

  • Gold Award projects require at least 80 hours of planning, organization, leadership, and hands-on work from the Girl Scout.
